Youth within the Anglican Parishes of the Central Interior are an active and exciting group. A number of our parishes regularly hold youth events, meetings, and activities for youth in their parish and community. Contact a parish in your community for more information. Youth are also involved on a number of committees within APCI, taking a part in discussion and decisions.
APCI youth are involved in the British Columbia and Yukon Anglican Youth Movement (BCYAYM). Many of us attended the last Fall Conference over Thanksgiving weekend at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Seventeen youth from APCI joined a group of about fifty-five youth from across BC! There are currently three youth on the BCYAYM Council from APCI meeting with other youth, a clergy rep, and an adult lay rep to plan the coming conferences and retreats. We are looking forward to the next Fall Conference taking place in the Diocese of New Westminster.
Sorrento Centre offers the Young Sojourner’s Program May 8 -10, 2009 with Rev. Dan Hines and the Leadership Team. We join together and enter the Danger Zone, that place of danger in the gospels and in the presence of Jesus. Our time will also be spent doing work on the Centre grounds, and engaging in music and play! More information and a registration form to come soon.
Come back often for updated information on the upcoming retreats and conferences. If you have any questions or would like more information about youth ministry in APCI please contact:
